“He who provides for this life, but makes no provision for eternity, is wise for a moment, but a fool forever.”
The longer I live the more I realize just how true God’s Word is. The Word of God states, “Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away,” (James 2:14). Have you given much thought about eternity lately? Have you given much thought as to where your loved ones and friends will spend eternity?
Since the beginning of this year, three members of Maple Spring church passed on. The funeral service for Carlton Yoder was held last Saturday, February 3. The sanctuary was filled with many people that were touched and encouraged in some by because of Carlton’s faithful life. All four of his children spoke about how their father taught them to always trust is God. Carlton was never ashamed of his Lord and Savior.
I’ve had several conversations with family members and friends about how it is almost unbelievable just how quickly time passes by. I’m sure you’ll agree. As you know, life is filled with many uncertainties, trials and changes. Isn’t it refreshing to know that God’s Word never changes and neither does He (Hebrews 13:8).
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life,” (John 6:47).
